Still No Final Decision From Mountain Loner On Tourists

Our mountain loner has still not come to a final decision on his latest plans.

Banner Elk, NC — There has been no further word on a final decision on whether the tourists staying at The Cabins of Sugar Grove in Banner Elk, NC will live through the night or not. The mountain loner who holds their lives in the balance held a press conference earlier to explain that coming to a final decision was made tougher when he inadvertently met two of them.

“I don’t like to get to know my targets first – I know that there are loners who enjoy that, but it’s never been my thing,” he explained earlier. “But, I was coming up the hill, and didn’t think that they were around, and a woman and child just happened to be out where I didn’t expect them to be. Kids – they’re always a wildcard. But, anyway, they saw me and said ‘hello’ so I really felt that I had to say ‘hello’ back – otherwise, they might report odd behavior in the area, and that’s never good in my line of business. They seemed like really nice people – the kid was really cute, as those things go. But, not saying I’m just going to let them walk away, either. A lot of planning goes into these things. I’ll go back this evening and really weigh the pros and cons, and come to a final decision based on what’s best for me – and the voices in my head.”

Previous victims profiled. They were hacked to death while they slept, and the cabin was set on fire. Insurance covered the loss to the business owner.

This isn’t the first time this has happened, but he made it clear that what happened in the past won’t dictate what happens now.

“Look, I was young back then – it was the early-90s. Christ, I think I was listening to Nirvana and Pearl Jam. Of course, back then, who wasn’t. I decided not to follow through back then, but I was also relatively new to the game. I really don’t feel, based on our earlier interaction, that they’d even remember me by the time they finish dinner. It won’t really affect my decision, honestly. We’ll look at the whole situation, and go from there. It’s also possible that I could hit one and not the other. From what I can tell, the people I met are in Bearclaw, but I haven’t actually seen the folks in Treehouse. Of course, that would likely mean that I’d want to hit Bearclaw, since they could identify me, but you all know my work – I’m unpredictable, if nothing else.”

This story will continue to evolve throughout the evening, and we will report any updates as they become available. Should the loner decide to move forward with his plan, we will reach out to any survivors and/or surviving family members.
